Product Features

Complete Pin Count Range — 6 to 24 Pins

From full-featured 24-pin (USB4 / 40 Gbps) to cost-optimized 6-pin charging-only, we offer every configuration to match your project’s exact performance and budget requirements.

🔌

Multiple Mounting Styles — SMT / DIP / Mid‑Mount

SMT vertical, SMT right‑angle, DIP through‑hole vertical, and mid‑mount (sinking) options — all three are compatible with standard USB-C cables, with mid‑mount offering reduced board height for ultra‑thin devices.

🛡️

Durable Construction — 10,000 Mating Cycles

Gold‑plated copper alloy contacts and stainless steel EMI shielding shells ensure stable electrical performance and long‑term reliability even in frequently used ports.

🔋

5A / 240W USB PD Ready

All models include CC1 and CC2 pins for USB Power Delivery negotiation. 24‑pin and 16‑pin models rated at 5A, 6‑pin models rated at 3A. Supports up to USB PD 3.1 (240W) with compatible controller.

📺

DisplayPort & HDMI Alt Mode (24‑Pin Only)

Full 24‑pin configurations support DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode (8K@60Hz) and HDMI Alt Mode, enabling single‑cable video + data + power for docking stations and monitors.

RoHS 3 & REACH Compliant

All USB-C receptacles comply with RoHS 3 (EU 2015/863) and REACH SVHC regulations, with compliance documentation available for EU market entry and supply chain audits.

FAQ
What is the difference between SMT vertical, SMT right‑angle, and DIP vertical USB‑C receptacles?
SMT vertical connectors mount flat on the PCB surface with the port opening facing upward — ideal for top‑access or panel‑flush designs. SMT right‑angle connectors exit horizontally toward the board edge, suitable for side‑panel ports in laptops and hubs. DIP through‑hole vertical connectors insert pins through the PCB for maximum mechanical strength — preferred when the port will experience heavy plug/unplug stress. All three are compatible with standard USB‑C cables.
What is a mid‑mount (sinking) USB‑C receptacle?
A mid‑mount or sinking USB‑C receptacle is recessed into a slot cut through the PCB, so the connector body sits partially below the board surface. This reduces the total height above the PCB compared to standard surface‑mount designs — critical for ultra‑thin laptops, tablets, and 2‑in‑1 devices. Models with sinking depths of 0.8mm and 1.6mm are available to accommodate different chassis clearances.
What is the difference between 24‑pin and 16‑pin USB‑C receptacles?
A 24‑pin USB‑C receptacle carries the complete USB‑C specification including SuperSpeed data (USB 3.1 Gen 2 / USB4 up to 40 Gbps), DisplayPort and HDMI Alt Mode video, and USB Power Delivery up to 240W. A 16‑pin USB‑C receptacle supports USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) and up to 5A charging only — suitable for cost‑sensitive charging‑only or low‑speed data applications where USB 3.x speed is not required.
Do your USB‑C receptacles support USB Power Delivery?
Yes. All Vistar USB‑C receptacle models include the CC1 and CC2 pins required for USB PD negotiation, and are rated at 5A/30VDC (or 3A for the 6‑pin models). To implement USB PD fast charging, a compatible USB PD controller IC must be present on your PCB — the connector itself is a passive component. Our 24‑pin SMT receptacle supports up to USB PD 3.1 (240W) with appropriate controller and cable.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Standard MOQ is 1,000 pieces per model. Tape‑and‑reel and tray packaging are available for SMT and through‑hole assembly. Standard production lead time is 2–4 weeks. Free samples are available for qualified engineering projects — contact sales@vistarelectronics.com with your project details and part number requirement.
