What is the benefit of Gold plating vs. Tin plating on pin headers?
Gold plating is highly resistant to oxidation and provides a more reliable contact over many mating cycles, making it ideal for low-voltage signal transmission. Tin plating is more economical and offers excellent solderability, but it is better suited for applications with fewer mating cycles or where cost is the primary factor.
